Pictures speak their own language. With this language everyone can express themselves and many people are addressed and touched by it. Pictures of people with intellectual disabilities do speak: about their observations in life, how they see their surroundings, people and nature. How their inner eye imagines a beautiful world, what fills them with longing, how much harmony or tension is in them.
The Bundesvereinigung Lebenshilfe e.V. has been working as a self-help association, parent and specialist association for people with intellectual disabilities and their families since 1958. The goals of Lebenshilfe are comprehensive participation and inclusion as well as the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Germany.
